Summary

In the 4th year of my PhD, a fellow student came to me with the idea of overlaying 2D plots to show differences between measurements of protein drug formulations. I worked with him to make the idea concrete and coded the plotting software. I also added a hypothesis test that would find regions of insignificant differences, so that they could be made transparent, allowing images of differences to be overlaid without confusion. I contributed the analysis method section of the paper, and we worked with the university's intellectual property department to protect the idea. When he graduated, my collaborator took the method to his new job to develop it further.
